Across twelve tracks sung entirely in Icelandic, the album traces the full arc of the fire realm, from the birth of the first flame in Ginnungagap, through Surtr and his burning sword Lævateinn, to the apocalyptic blaze of Ragnarök and the fragile ember of rebirth that follows. Built on Tagelharpa, Kravik Lyre, Lur, and other traditional Nordic instruments, MÚSPELLSHEIMR trades the expected drone of Norse folk for something hotter and more relentless, a soundscape built to feel like the world's first fire rather than its last winter. MÚSPELLSHEIMR is the opening chapter of a nine-album cycle, one realm at a time, each sung in Icelandic and grounded in the source mythology. The journey continues with NIFLHEIMR, the realm of primordial ice.
